forecast. >> the one right now really spreading rain in the sierra nevada. in fact, the snow we had unfortunately melting but there's more to come with the colder, stronger system. here's a look at heavenly right now where we are reporting rain at the tahoe valley airport. also at truck key with numbers near 40 degrees. and locally temperatures are anywhere from two to nine degrees warmer than yesterday morning at this time. so we are looking at the rain showers exiting the peninsula and the east bay so let's get you back home and talk about the winds, as well. here's the san mateo bridge. we have gusty winds out there around hay war, gusting to over 20 miles an hour. also at our coast. and in the inland east bay. do be careful out there. there's fog on top of all the rain. but you know the next system will bring breezy winds out ahead of the cold front that is slated to arrive by late this afternoon in the north bay. the north bay right now is where we take you where the heaviest rain is. it really has been quite light throughout the morning hours. in fact, we are looking at scatte

and also nevada. heavier rain coming your way. you'll get a small slice of this up into san francisco as activity will pick up. let's take you up to the north bay. not too heavy on santa rosa. highway 101, you're going to 50 or 60 miles an hour. visibility could be reduced to hundreds of feet in some cases. back towards east bay, hasn't been a whole lot here. getting a little bit here filling in back by liver moore. we'll see this fill in a little bit more here as we head throughout the next two to three hours. just like the south bay. here comes more rainfall off to the south to san tra cruisz. we've got snow up here. not too heavy. winter weather advisory. we'll see it switch from rain to snow back to rain and snow throughout the entire weekend. that's why totals will only be four to eight inches with the latest storm system moving in. the timing of this cell. wet weather with the two storms over the next 48 hours. this one tonight and tomorrow morning. the second storm late saturday night and sunday morning. not only the rainfall but a few storms. the second storm will also be watc

now it's raining in the sierra nevada with lake tahoe reporting light rain showers. 37 degrees. here's a look at heavenly. the tahoe valley airport, 39 degrees. so with this very warm system we are going to wait until the next one where we change on over to snow and the snow levels begin to lower. 6:51, the official sunrise, setting at 4:57. that's ten hours three minutes of date. here's a look downtown. and you will notice the roadways are wet. but this system is winding down. here's evidence of that. live doppler 7 hd. you will notice as we put it in motion for you, we are on the wack edge of it. but the heavier rain continues to fall well to the north of us. the spottier showers in the east bay and the south bay. here's a look right now at some pretty good downpours from count saint helena. they have picked up over an inch of rain. and lighter returns down here, highway 101, petaluma, novato and heavy wane with vacaville and rio vista. be careful if you are headed that way. light returns here. then from redwood city to mountain view, light rain showers. it will continue to kind of

the monterey bay. in the sierra nevada, the snow levels are still high. this is a warm system. the highest elevations are starting to pick up snow. only chain controls right now state route 4. the rainfall totals the last 24 hours look like this. .38 in san francisco. look at santa rosa. over half an inch of rain. down toward san jose, .07 of an inch of rain. we are still counting. temperatures in the 50s and the 60s, and it is quite mild with the cloud cover. the waves of rain into saturday morning. a break develops tomorrow around midday. and a colder storm is coming in tomorrow night. your weekend is not a complete washout. of your plans may be okay. tomorrow morning scattered showers and temperatures in the 50s. could see an isolated thunderstorm. it is just a slight chance right now as this area of low pressure and the storm finally pushes through. we are still dealing with the leading edge of it. behind this system here is storm number two. it is a colder one coming in from the gulf of alaska. it gets here and it will make its presence known with the colder air. here is the computer
